Cheryl HellerCheryl Heller is a writer, designer and communication strategist who helps clients integrate socially responsible behavior into sustainable brand communication and promotional programs.
Her firm, Heller Communication Design, has developed a process through which corporations can play a leading role in alleviating the social and environmental issues facing the world, through programs that are both easy and profitable for them.
Cheryl has authored articles for Communication Arts, ID Magazine, Graphis Magazine and The Design Management Journal. She has written a book for the AIGA on the best process for preserving innovation within corporations. Recently she wrote the lead story on creative strategy for Adobe on line magazine, Proxy.
She has been profiled through articles in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Graphis Magazine, Communication Arts, ID Magazine, How Magazine, Print and PDN. She was recently chosen as one of the top women in design by Step-Inside Design Magazine.
Currently, Cheryl is curating an exhibit for the Cooper Hewitt Museum, part of the Smithsonian Institution, called "Design for the other 90%".
She is an honorary board member of the PopTech conference, which explores the social impact of technology and the future. She serves on the board of the New York Art Director Club, is a member of the Aspen Design Summit, and is a past Executive Board member of the AIGA.
Cheryl recently conducted a branding workshop for Egyptian business leaders in Cairo as part of a USAID program, and speaks regularly on business and creativity.
She teaches an invitation-only course for seniors at the School of Visual Arts.
Her deep, diverse experience working with corporations has included the launch of three new divisions for Reebok, and major repositioning efforts for Kodak Professional, Bayer Corporation, The Girl Scouts of America, Cemex, Ford Motor Company, Seagrams, Engelhard Corporation and Sappi. She led the launch of a new global network for Discovery Networks International.
In addition to her work for large corporations, Cheryl works with a group of leading-edge non-profits. She is currently working with WWF to develop a new identity and communication strategy. She consults with Audubon New York, International Development Enterprises (IDE, a leading international organization dedicated to Cheryl recently conducted a branding workshop for Egyptian business leaders in Cairo as part of a USAID program, and speaks regularly on business and creativity. |
