2005 Marks the launch of the U.N. Decade of Education for Sustainable Development!
In March, 2005 we celebrated the launch of the U.N. Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. Many groups around the country and in every country are signing on to the Decade as a way to advance the work of education for sustainability. The U.S. Partnership for the Decade is a partnership of individuals, organizations, and institutions in the United States dedicated to the U.N. Decade. The headquarters for The U.S. Partnership has emerged as a “switchboard” of organizations, institutions, activities, programs and events that are all interested in and dedicating themselves to educating for a sustainable future. The vision is to fully integrate Education for Sustainability into teaching and learning in the United States. The mission of The U.S. Partnership is to leverage the U.N. Decade to foster education for sustainability in the United States. Included among the many partners and collaborators that have signed on so far are:
