3RD ANNUAL COMMUNITY GATHERING & YOUTH LEADERSHIP CORE COURSE
The vision of the SoL Education Partnership is to create systemic change for a sustainable future by forming strong collaborative relationships within, between, and among schools and communities. This year, our annual gathering will include our first Youth Leadership Core Course that will occur simultaneously with our 3rd Annual Community Gathering. This very exciting learning opportunity allows us to incorporate meaningful student involvement that will support adults as they engage the knowledge, perspectives, and experiences of students actively engaged in their own learning. In this special event, students and adults will engage, learn, and apply their learning together in our Community Gathering and Core Course.

High school principals, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, teachers and youth will participate in this five day course (July 12-17th). Each SoL Education Partnership member site is encouraged to enroll 5-8 high school students in this year’s Leadership Core Course and Community Gathering. They will be responsible for their high school students during the evening hours of the week. Security and supervision staff will be available in the residence areas to provide supervisory support. Intentional learning opportunities will integrate both groups and foster shared learning, and cultivate leadership within and between the two groups.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND PROGRAM OUTCOMES:
This year’s program will be unique. We are offering two simultaneous courses with overlap and synergy. Some activities will be joint with extensive interaction between the youth and the adults, others will be separate where appropriate for each courses goal.
